We are searching for an experienced Federal Work Study - Stage Crew Apprentice, Office of Events at our Arapahoe Campus facility.

Job SummaryThe Office of Events provides logistical and staff support for theatrical performances, dance, music, lectures, readings, the Summer Writing Program, meetings, conferences and other special events at Naropa University. We manage multiple event spaces, including the Performing Arts Center on the Arapahoe campus and the Nalanda Events Center on the Nalanda campus. Apprentices will rotate stage crew positions including event set-up and breakdown, audio/visual, house management, box office, as well as other behind-the-scenes operations. Being on the stage crew offers a great deal of experience in a varied working environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Sets up and takes down risers, chairs, tables, rugs, and other performance related gear.
• Moves heavy equipment and set pieces.
• Attends mandatory trainings, crew meetings, and interviews related to work performance.
• Cleans and performs custodial work to maintain cleanliness of space.
• Builds and deconstructs scaffolding, climbs ladders, works from heights.
• Crew members are expected to follow the instruction of the crew captain during all shifts.
• Other duties as assigned by the crew captain.
• On the job training will occur in the following roles/areas: Assistant Stage Manager, House Manager, Box Office Assistant, Electrics, Video, and Maintenance.

• Must be willing and able to wear appropriate clothing (all black, including Naropa Crew T-Shirt).

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

Maximum amount of weight employee must be able to lift/carry with or without reasonable accommodation(s):

During regular daily activities, employee must be able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Stand, walk, sit, handle/finger, bend at the waist, reach above shoulder level, kneel, crouch and crawl.

During regular daily activities, employee may be exposed to the following: Interruptions/distractions, heat/cold, dust, dampness, heights, moving machinery.

Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Naropa's retirement plan only.
