Responsibilities

Box Office Associates interact with museum visitors and play an important role in providing an excellent customer service experience.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Process ticket sales using computer-based ticketing software for live performances, films, lectures, and special events in person and over the phone.
  • Efficient, accurate cash handling and ticket distribution.
  • Answer customer questions while providing information on ticketed events, policies and procedures, ticket prices, and special promotions.
  • Provide excellent front line customer service to ticket buyers.
  • Ability to problem solve with ticket issues as needed.
  • Organize and distribute will-call tickets at performance time.
  • Assist with ushering as needed at performance time.
  • Assist with mailing lists and sales reports.
  • Ability to be a team player with department personnel and front of house staff.


Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately handle cash.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interact with a variety of people.
  • Ability to work with the computer ticketing system.
  • Ability to stand for up to one hour, and lift up to 10 lbs.


Helpful

  • Previous experience with Tessitura.
  • Bilingual language skills.

Anticipated Salary Range

$13.00 per hour/about 24 hours a week.

Pay Plan

This is an OPS/Part-Time Job and is not eligible for benefits. Although listed as "temporary," please note this is not a seasonal/summer position.

Schedule

Working hours are Sundays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional working hours are based on performance schedules on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Holidays, weekends, and some evenings are required based on the needs of The Ringling.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11 .
